Confession: You’re Already in My AI-Powered CRM
Watch the OneCircle demo and see how AI can turbocharge your personal contacts
I have a confession to make: I have an Airtable CRM to keep track of important people in my life. If you’re reading this and we’ve met before, you’re probably already in it.
I know I’m not alone. Other Type A folks have their own methods. Some use google sheets, some use iOS notes, and a few (mostly Boomers) use Excel.
Here’s what my Airtable looks like:
But: I’m Too Lazy to Update It
This all sounds great, in theory.
But, like anyone whose boss ever told them to use a CRM, I’m too lazy to update the database whenever I meet someone wonderful. Life’s too short to open Airtable and play “fill in the column.”
My CRM quickly became stale.
The more useful columns I created, the less likely I was to keep them updated. For example, I created a column for the spouse’s name and another for kids’ names. Then came columns for birthdays and pet names.
These columns all made sense, but the more fields I created, the lazier I became.
If only I could hire an executive assistant to manage my contacts…
Solution: OneCircle AI
These days, I just send a voice note to OneCircle with my recap of who I met with, what we discussed, and any takeaways from the meeting. OneCircle transcribes my voice note and automatically extracts any information relevant to the current columns in my Airtable. It then gives me a draft of the entry for my editing and approval. I speak to OneCircle over text message, just like I would speak to any human assistant.
You don’t need to install any new apps. The assistant works over text messages, so it’s instantly compatible with Android and iOS. You’d simply need to get a free Airtable account.
Watch the YouTube video above for a demo, or go to OneCircle.ai for access.
(You don’t have to use voice notes. The app also accepts regular text messages… or you can use your built-in speech to text keyboard.)
Would you like to use this for yourself? Keep reading for access.
What’s next:
User and AirTable authentication: this is necessary to allow users besides me to create accounts and give the app permission to access their Airtable records securely[DONE!]Ability to easily edit the draft entries before insertion[DONE!]Vectorizing the raw note transcriptions for rapid retrieval. Currently, I can query the data by applying filters in Airtable (e.g., show me anyone with the tag “web3”). But, through vectorization + GPT, the app could surface any conversation notes related to web3 and extract the note's context to surface more intelligent relationships between contacts and concepts. I imagine a hybrid data store of some structured fields and some freeform text.
Ability to query OneCircle directly. For example, if I’m looking for someone with ux experience, I currently need to use keyword and filter searching within Airtable. In the future, I could ask OneCircle, and it would respond with the appropriate contacts. Once this is realized, Airtable becomes purely storage, and all the logic happens within the OneCircle application.
There might be some use in pulling relevant contact data from external sources like LinkedIn, Crunchbase, etc.
Support for other CRMs: currently, the app works with Airtable, but we’ll need to expand to other platforms, especially if people want to use this for their businesses
OneCircle for Business
Most professional sales teams use a CRM to track sales leads. However, while the Chief Revenue Officer loves optimizing around all the metrics and automation in the CRM, the salespeople have little incentive to keep the records and fields up to date. They just want to close the deal and earn their commission!
CRMs are only as good as the data in their structured fields – and that data gets stale the minute the CRM starts being used in the real world.
Imagine if your salespeople could feed their meeting notes into OneCircle, and our app automatically updates your CRM's various fields. OneCircle could sync into your platform's existing emails, notes, and attachments, eliminating any additional steps for your employees.
Thanks what a nice read. I message you on IG before about getting access to your Esther bot. Still possible?
