AudioShift.ai: AI scripts and records podcasts from any written posts (our latest project)
See the behind-the-scenes video walk-through of how AI produces podcast episodes in your voice
Our latest project, AudioShift.ai, automatically scripts, voices, and publishes podcast episodes in your voice from your existing written content. Don’t believe me? Audioshift turned my old Substack post into a fully scripted and recorded episode on my Bot Meets World podcast. I neither scripted nor recorded this:
Or, check out this sample podcast episode produced by AudioShift in the voice of Romeen Sheth* based solely on his tweet. Romeen neither scripted nor recorded this:

Five Free Episodes for Friends
Do you have a Medium, Substack, or Twitter following? Do you know someone who could benefit from expanding their written content onto a podcast?
I’m offering five free episodes to my friends and their friends. If you know someone, please share this post with them so they can get their free episodes. Thank you for any support, introductions, or feedback you may have as we bring this concept to market.
Why use AI to create a podcast, anyway?
People prefer to listen, not read
People prefer digesting content passively in audio format.
Over 82 million Americans listen to podcasts, with 41% of Americans ages 12 and up having listened to a podcast in the past month (up from 37% just two years prior). They listen to podcasts while driving, working out, commuting, and cleaning. In fact, 70% of podcast fans listen while doing housework.
After spending the entire day staring at a computer screen for work, the last thing we want to do is spend another 10 minutes glued to our screens reading a dense article.
Podcasts let you meet your audience where they want to be reached.
Podcasts unlock a new revenue stream
As your podcast audience grows, AudioShift will help you tap into ad marketplaces to automatically insert pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll ads to generate additional revenue. A podcaster with around 10,000 downloads per episode can expect to make around $500 to $900 in incremental revenue per month.
Recording and editing podcasts manually is laborious
Creating a podcast is a major undertaking.
Let’s say you wanted to create a podcast the old-fashioned way. First, you need to have a professional microphone set up. Then, you need to script out an episode. Then come the multiple takes to get to a smooth recording. Then you must upload to an editing platform and edit out the “ums”, “uhs”, and misspeaks. If you’re lucky, you love how you sound and don’t have to re-record anything. Finally, you must write the show notes and publish the episode across the podcast platforms. Whew! No wonder most people do not go through the trouble of creating a podcast.
With AudioShift, anyone can instantly repurpose their thoughtful writing to reach a huge audience.
Many people don’t like recording their own voice
Many people don’t sound great over audio. Or they feel anxious speaking into a microphone. The most thoughtful writers are often not the smoothest speakers. Consider how many visionary thought leaders have a muted reach simply because they choose not to broadcast over audio channels.
The most inspirational books are often published as audiobooks for thousands of dollars in recording fees, but what about the most inspirational essays, blog posts, and tweets?
How it works
You can see the full demo in the video above, but the basic workflow is as follows:
Paste the URL to any piece of posted content into the AudioShift app
AudioShift writes the podcast script based on your content
Writes the intro and outro script
Rewrites transition points in your content to make it flow as a podcast
Rewrites and expands your post into a script that’s optimized for podcast format (optional)
Other magical behind-the-scenes optimizations
AudioShift generates an ultrarealistic audio recording in your voice
One-click publishes to Spotify, Apple, and Google Podcasts
Who benefits from AudioShift
After speaking with prospective clients, I’ve seen the most pull from the following:
Longform newsletter writers: Anyone who currently publishes via Substack or Medium is the perfect candidate to instantly have a companion podcast to their content
Content influencers: these are the folks currently publishing motivational or thought-provoking pieces on LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Examples include founders, venture capitalists, web3 leaders, business coaches, life coaches, and financial advisors.
Agencies and brands: plenty of consultancies and agencies express their thought leadership through long-form blog posts
Often, we’ve noticed thought leaders having a podcast for interviewing guests and a separate newsletter for publishing their own viewpoints. We believe AudioShift will work well for supplementing their existing content and filling out their podcast library.
Personal epilogue: The original inspo for AudioShift
My friend Tal forwards me at least two dense, long-form newsletters each week. He’s great at surfacing strong content. However, I have no time to read it. I like to listen to content while cooking, driving, and going on walks.
I wished I could listen to the podcast version of these articles in my podcast app queue. That’s how the idea for AudioShift was born.

Insightful walk-though as always! That podcast is a great example of the wonders and limitations of the software at this point. While initially, it sounds just like you are actually the one speaking, the longer I listened, the more it sounded robotic with the flat tone and jumpiness on a few of the sentence transitions. However, it's still mind-blowing technology.
